Blame or reframe?

Sometimes we have to rely on other people's actions to complete a project. Good planning and attention to detail can get you close to the finish line, but if someone else doesn't do their part, it can lead to failure. We can get mad, blame and yell, or pause and learn. Our reactions in these moments often define future performance in similar situations.

  • What went wrong?

  • Was there a communication breakdown?

  • Was there a gap in the plan?

  • How can the process change so the pattern doesn't continue?

Blame and anger often lead to a repeat of the broken process. Learning can create a new strategy with updated information and a greater chance of success.
